Freddie Janssen opened café, urban farm and co-working space Snackbar a few months ago, against all advice to stick to her day job. There have been plenty of highs and lows since, including (but absolutely not limited to): unexpected mountains of paperwork, budget setbacks and adopting a family of foxes…
She’s keen to hear stories from other women going through the process of setting up their own place, so we’ve teamed up to invite three leading females down to Snackbar for the evening:

Snackbar is a female-led initiative that started out in the summer of 2016, offering popup BBQ taco parties in East London. After residencies at Borough Market, The Laughing Heart and Legs, as well as collaborations with brands such as Tabasco and Munchies, founder Freddie Janssen launched the first bricks-and-mortar site in September 2019. Located within a 3-storey building in east London, Snackbar includes a cafe, co-working space and urban farm, created in partnership with FARM: Shop.
