The Shift Show is L.O.R.’s new WEEKLY chat show, hosted by L.O.R. founder, Natalia Ribbe. Episodes will air every week on Instagram LIVE! Keep an eye on our profile for the schedule, and to see who will be joining us on shift.

It’s customary before a shift starts, to have a team briefing. This is the time to go over any VIP guests coming in, specials, dishes that need pushing and 86’s. We’ve adapted it to brief you on what’s going on in the world of food & drink, some extradorinary people, initiaives and things we could do without…

Mary Ellen McTague

We LOVE Mary Ellen and over the last two weeks, she’s been busting her but to cook for the NHS, driving around picking up donated produce, and rallying troops to keep our emergency services and those who are without fuel. If you live in the Greater Manchester area, you can sign up via the form in her bio on Instagram @maryellenmctage and @hellocreameries - give her a virtual hug and high five while you’re there.

  • Sourdough (although props to everyone who. has made one!)

  • Banana Bread (let’s swap this for Lemon Drizzle?)

  • Delivery charges on restaurants (Deliver-who? - enough with the insane charges, impossible for the little guys to keep up.)

Hospitality for Heroes

A new charity that is working with chefs, to raise funds to feed NHS workers on the COVID-19 frontline with free, healthy meals prepared by local head chefs.

We loved Anna Haugh’s recipe for Shakshuka, and the pink hair too.

WHAT WE NEED TO PUSH THIS WEEK!

ALL restaurants now offering take away need your help. If you can afford to order a takeaway once a week, please support these businesses in their time of need, and if you can’t, ask your rich friends to do it. Make that #workingfromhome lunch count. Check in with your absolute favourite local haunt and see if they are still doing takeaway or delivery. Or If you don’t feel comfortable, buy a gift card or donate to a staff relief gofundme page. Let’s keep this industry ALIVE!

Check your local veg, fish and meat suppliers and producers to see if they are doing boxes.
