First job.
First job was washing up in a pub kitchen when I was about 12.
First lesson you learned the hard way.
Don’t swear in front of relatives. When I said a word that meant something I knew nothing about, and my uncle decided to explain to me what it was when I was maybe 8… mortified.
First person that inspired you.
Madonna. Cheesy I know, but I was obsessed with her from about the age of 2, literally.
First thing you did in Lockdown 1.
I can’t remember, I’ve blocked it out, so I’ll make this up as the first thing, as definitely one of the things we did a lot were family festivals (just my husband, son and I). My husband would set up the garden with loads of random stuff and we’d pretend to have a party.
First album you bought.
I had Michael Jackson Bad, but I don’t know if I bought it. I have a terrible memory. I remember buying TLC, crazy sexy cool, and that being a pivotal moment. I think I thought I was very cool, as I was on holiday in the States.
First book you really loved.
‘I will always love you’. It’s a sad children’s book about a dog that dies.
Last thing you bought.
4 tracksuits from H&M. My loungewear (or current everyday wear) needed an upgrade.
Last three things you ate.
A pack of wheat crunchies (pre-dinner snack), chicken chorizo and vegetable bake that my husband made for dinner. A Yorkie biscuit and raisin.
Last song you listened to.
T-shirt weather in the manor by Kano.
Last podcast you listened to.
Lockdown Parenting, by Rob Becket and Josh Widdecombe.
Last person you spoke to.
Apart from my husband who I live with, my friend Sim on the phone earlier today.
Last time you had fun.
Saturday night zoom with my family. I got a bit hysterical as everyone’s comments and routines were/are so mundane right now, I found it quite hilarious.
It is said that the two most important moments in a restaurant are the moment you walk in the door – the hello – and the moment you leave, the last bite you take, the last person you speak to – the end/goodbye. But so much of our life is shaped by first and lasts. So here we profile amazing women talking about some of their first and last moments...
