It’s been a crazy old time.
A few weeks ago, we asked YOU what your biggest concerns were in a world post COVID-19, and from that information we’ve put together a series of sessions to help us all work through these unprecedented times.
We’ve all had to readjust our finances - both personal and for the business, reevaluate our jobs and some of us might be feeling a little lost.
So bring on IN SERVICE / The Surgery Sessions, a one day virtual festival aimed at helping YOU get through this pandemic and back to work!
Monday 20th July / 9.30 - 5.30pm
Wherever you are! Hosted on ZOOM
Tickets are £30 with a percentage going to the
Young Women’s Trust emergency fund
The Young Women’s Trust emergenc fund is aimed at supporting economically vulnerable young women whose challenges are being heightened by the coronavirus crisis. We know that young women are more likely to be in precarious, unprotected contracts and will face unprecedented challenges over the next weeks and months. As things stand many young women will need to take time off work due to illness, self-isolation or as carers for others.
Money Talks / 2 part session
Part 1 : Your Money with Kate Woosey/ We’ll be examining our personal finance as some of us take pay cuts, move jobs or remain on furlough, making sure you know what is available to you and what positive changes you can make to your money!
Kate Woosey, founder of Alex Financial Services is on a mission to change the way we engage with our finances. They offer zero jargon, relatable advice to support individuals and businesses in achieving their financial goals. Focusing on education and proactive work to increase their client’s financial security and wellbeing. We’re tired of talking to white middle aged men about this, it all sounds a bit foreign when they speak - Kate is here to make sense of money jargon and more.
Part 2 - The Business of Money with Katie Lin / Here we’ll talk about reviewing your costs, looking at loans, banking and future financials so you can make positive steps to get your business back on track.
Katie has been working with hospitality brands on a range of topics, with particular focus on business strategy, financials and property. She has continued to offer her support to help selected brands navigate challenges and analyse opportunities, both going into and as we emerge from lockdown. This has been in addition to her day job in commercial real estate investment management.
WTF Am I Going to Do; I need a new job
We asked what your main concern was in a world post-COVID-19, and the majority of you are worried about keeping your job, or having to get a new one. Which is why we’re bringing in a specialist to coach you through job hunting and keeping you employed during this time. Meet Lauren Barnett, founder of Home Hospitality, who specialises in a thoughtful and personal approach to working with people and businesses to find the right fit for everyone.
Lauren will be presenting her top list of tips for job hunting, and hunting for your team in the time of COVID-19. But we want to hear from YOU! So we’ll be asking you to submit your questions for Lauren ahead of time, so she can give you the best answers to get you back in the workplace.
Pivoting
The dreaded P word. How many times have we heard that during lockdown!
Throughout the day we’ll hear from a group of women who have pivoted and made changes in their lives - for professional or personal reasons.
Speakers include teaching assistant turned Great British Bake Off contestant, cook book author and food stylist Benjamina Ebuehi. Restaurant chef turned primary school chef and co-founder of Chefs in Schools, Nicole Pasani, and advertising, turned restaurant marketing turned cafe owner, Freddie Janssen to name a few! All of these ladies have pivoted in their lives, from one job to another or even one industry to another.
As we all evaluate our future, we hope these stories will give you the strength and inspiration to make a change if needed, or pivot your thinking to get to that next stage in your career.
The Safety Dance
